Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) VH® Soya Sauce, divided
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) sesame oil, divided
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) lime juice
- 1 tbsp (45 mL) granulated sugar
- 1 lb (500 g) sirloin beef, thinly sliced
- 1 bunch broccolini, cut into florets
- 1 cup (250 mL) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup (250 mL) snow peas, trimmed
- 6 green onions, thinly sliced and divided
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh ginger, minced
- 8 oz (250 g) Hong Kong–style (chow mein) noodles
Directions
-
Step one
In small bowl, whisk together 1 1/4 cups (310 mL) water, 2 tbsp (30 mL) VH® Soya Sauce, 1 tbsp (15 mL) of sesame oil, lime juice, and sugar. Set aside.
-
Step two
Toss beef with 2 tbsp (30 mL) VH® Soya Sauce.
-
Step three
In wok or high-sided skillet set over medium-high heat, heat 3 tbsp (45 mL) sesame oil. Add beef and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until starting to brown. Transfer beef to plate, leaving remaining oil in pan.
-
Step four
Add broccolini, mushrooms, snow peas, half the green onions, garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until vegetables are starting to soften. Add noodles and return beef back to wok. Pour in stir-fry sauce mixture. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until noodles are heated and tender, beef is cooked through and vegetables are tender-crisp.
-
Step five
Garnish with remaining green onions.
Tips
Hong Kong–style noodles are precooked so you can just add to stir-fries. Substitute with your favourite egg noodles cooked according to package directions or to parboiled instant ramen noodles.
